Savoie is the heart of the Alpine vineyard: from the Mont Granier scree (Apremont, Abymes) to the slopes of Chignin and the Combe de Savoie, up to Chautagne by Lake Bourget. A vineyard for sale in Savoie enjoys a favourable backdrop: mondeuse and mountain whites are winning restaurant lists far beyond the ski resorts.
The local outlet — Alpine tourism, the Chambéry and Annecy conurbations — absorbs most of the production, securing direct-sales models. Land values, long modest, are rising with the vineyard's reputation.
Apremont and the Abymes form the largest basin, kingdom of jacquère; Chignin and its roussanne (Chignin-Bergeron) reach the best valuations; the Combe de Savoie (Arbin, Cruet) is mondeuse country. In Chautagne, gamay and pinot complete the palette on well-exposed slopes.
Slopes, stone walls and fragmentation shape Savoie farming: at equal surface, a mechanisable combe vineyard is worth markedly more than a terraced hillside. The most demanded crus (Chignin-Bergeron, Arbin) trade above the departmental benchmark.
