Between the Cévennes, the garrigue (Mediterranean scrubland) and the Camargue, a wedding venue for sale in the Gard (30) sits in one of the most sought-after wedding areas of southern France. The Pont du Gard, Uzès and its ducal castle, the arena and Maison Carrée in Nîmes, the ramparts of Aigues-Mortes, the hilltop villages of the Uzège and the Costières de Nîmes vineyards attract French and international couples, and companies from nearby cities.
Venues here are often stone mas (southern farmhouses) with a reception hall and gîtes, or old character houses with terraces and gardens between Uzès and the Rhône valley. This page is for buyers of an event estate, for those taking over a trading venue and for owners preparing a sale. See also venues across Occitanie and in the neighbouring Hérault.

The Gard is one of the region's most expensive markets: large homes sold for a median €824,700 over 2021-2025 (indicative), well above the Occitanie median of €640,000, with a 90th percentile of €1,405,900. Country houses, at a median €265,000 in 2025, are also above the regional level. Notably, tourist inland areas (€221,885 over 2020-2025) fell 7.2%, while rural areas outside urban influence rose 7.5%: the most touristic areas already price in their appeal. For a mas with a hall, bedrooms and an established clientele, the large-home benchmark applies.
The Uzège and the Pont du Gard area are the heart of the wedding market, with limestone mas, hilltop villages and garrigue, and prices to match. To the north-east, the Cèze valley around Bagnols-sur-Cèze looks towards Orange and Avignon. To the south, the Vaunage, the Costières and the Petite Camargue, around Sommières and Aigues-Mortes, offer wine estates and bull-breeding ranches (manades).
To the west, the Cévennes around Anduze, Saint-Jean-du-Gard and Le Vigan offer old silk farms (magnaneries) and schist mas at lower prices. Nîmes-Pont-du-Gard TGV station, Nîmes station, Nîmes-Garons and Montpellier airports and the A9 and A54 motorways serve the département; venues close to them win more weekday seminars.
The Gard is highly exposed to épisodes cévenols, intense autumn rains that swell the Gardon, the Cèze and the Vidourle: check flood risk plans and the property's history. Garrigue and woodland face wildfire risk. Vaulted mas and stone courtyards convert well into event halls, but summer heat makes shade and ventilation essential.
A hall open to the public is an ERP (établissement recevant du public) of type L: capacity follows ERP rules (floor area, use, exits) and operating requires the opinion of the safety commission. Serving alcohol requires a suitable licence and an operating permit; on a takeover, check the licence and its transfer at the mairie (town hall). Amplified music calls for a noise impact study. Our guide to buying a reception venue (in French) covers these checks.
For the buildings, large homes in the département sold between €526,300 and €1,405,900 (10th to 90th percentile, DVF 2021-2025). A mas with a hall, gîtes and a trading business often sits in the upper half. Estimate purchase costs with our notary fees calculator (in French).
Around Uzès, demand is strong and international, but entry prices are high. The Cévennes give more space for the budget and appeal to nature lovers, at the cost of winding roads and a shorter season.
The property is conveyed by a notaire (the public officer who handles French property sales); the fonds de commerce, the business with its name, clients and equipment, is transferred separately. Ask for accounts, signed bookings, the safety report and the gîtes' registration as meublés de tourisme (furnished holiday lets), and have an accountant review the deal.
