In Touraine, Loire châteaux, vineyards and tufa-stone cellars create a setting that couples from across France and abroad associate with weddings: a wedding venue for sale in Indre-et-Loire (37) places you in one of the most sought-after event markets in the region. Chenonceau, Amboise, Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Chinon and Loches line the Loire, Cher, Indre and Vienne valleys, much of which is part of the Loire Valley UNESCO World Heritage site.
Venues here are often very large properties with many rooms near Tours or Amboise, restored châteaux with vineyards, old farms converted to weddings or guest houses with function rooms. This page is for buyers seeking a wedding estate, for those taking over a trading event venue and for sellers.

The type of municipality matters: across sales from mid-2020 to 2025, the median ranges from €130,000 (tourist inland) to €195,190 (peri-urban countryside). For a tourism business, coastal and tourist-inland municipalities are the relevant benchmark.

Touraine sits at the top of the regional market. Large houses sold for a median €690,000 over 2021-2025, the highest published departmental median in Centre-Val de Loire, and country houses for €180,000 in 2025. Peri-urban rural areas around Tours reach €195,190: proximity to the city counts for more than tourist appeal, and tourist-inland sales are marginal here. A wedding estate is therefore measured against large houses, whose 90th percentile reaches €1,164,000; an event property's price moves away from that according to hall capacity, bedrooms, any vineyard and the business handed over.
The Loire valley from Amboise through Tours to Langeais concentrates prestige homes, the Vouvray and Montlouis-sur-Loire slopes and an international clientele. To the west, the Chinon and Bourgueil areas combine vineyards, Chinon fortress and the banks of the Vienne. The Cher valley around Chenonceau and Bléré and the Indre valley from Azay-le-Rideau to Loches offer riverside mills and manor houses. Southern Touraine has larger farms at lower prices, while the north remains more rural.
Access is a strength: Saint-Pierre-des-Corps TGV station links Tours to Paris and Bordeaux by high-speed line, Tours Val de Loire airport has international flights, and the A10, A85 and A28 motorways serve the département. A venue near Tours draws corporate seminars in the week; a remote estate sells on its setting and accommodation.
Local buildings combine tufa stone and slate, cave dwellings and large outbuildings. Tufa needs regular upkeep and some underground cavities carry a collapse risk, so have them inspected. The Loire, Cher and Indre valleys are flood-prone despite the levees. A hall open to the public is an ERP (établissement recevant du public) of type L: capacity is calculated under ERP rules (floor area, use, exits) and opening requires the opinion of the safety commission. Serving alcohol requires a suitable licence and an operating permit; on a takeover, check the licence and its transfer at the mairie (town hall). Amplified music calls for a noise impact study. For the buildings, large houses in the département sold between €416,600 and €1,164,000 (10th to 90th percentile, DVF 2021-2025). Estates equipped for weddings, with halls, bedrooms and grounds, often sit above that range. Test your budget with our financing plan calculator (in French).
Yes, and this often balances the business: the TGV station and airport bring teams in during the week, alongside weekend weddings. Plan an equipped meeting room and enough bedrooms.
The property is conveyed by a notaire (the public officer who handles French property sales) through a compromis de vente (preliminary contract) and a final deed; the fonds de commerce (name, clients, contracts, equipment) is transferred under its own formalities. Check accounts, bookings, the safety report and the licence with an accountant.
