Looking for a wedding venue for sale in Ardèche (07) means betting on a département of gorges, plateaux and valleys. The Ardèche gorges and Pont d'Arc, the Chauvet cave and its replica, Mont Gerbier de Jonc at the source of the Loire, the Monts d'Ardèche regional nature park and the Saint-Joseph and Cornas vineyards on the right bank of the Rhône all make sought-after settings for outdoor weddings.
Venues take the form of stone farmhouses (mas), former magnaneries where silkworms were reared, upland farms or wine estates with a hall. This page is for buyers of an event estate, for those taking over a trading wedding venue and for owners preparing a sale. The whole region is covered on our page of wedding venues in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

Too few large houses sell in Ardèche to publish a median, so the regional figure of €878,400 (2021-2025) is only a rough guide. Country houses give a firmer base: a €225,000 median in 2025, with a firm price per m² (€2,334) for fairly small houses (101 m²) on an average plot of 5,447 m², well above the regional 3,243 m². Tourist inland areas (€205,000) are slightly cheaper than peri-urban ones (€227,325) and rose 9.6% between 2021 and 2025.
The south, around Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, Ruoms and the gorges, draws heavy summer traffic, and limestone farmhouses host weddings from June to September. In the north, the Rhône valley from Tournon-sur-Rhône to Annonay, close to Lyon and Valence, suits seminars and family events. The Eyrieux valley, with the Dolce Via greenway, and the Haut-Vivarais plateaux are quieter, with a shorter season at altitude.
No motorway crosses the département: the A7 runs along the Drôme bank of the Rhône, and Valence TGV station lies across the river. On-site accommodation therefore matters, especially for weddings that last a whole weekend.
Limestone in the south, granite and schist in the centre, basalt on the plateau: Ardèche buildings are sturdy, but terraces and narrow lanes complicate parking and catering access. A hall open to the public is an ERP (établissement recevant du public) of type L: capacity depends on floor area, use and exits, and opening requires the safety commission's opinion. Serving alcohol requires a suitable licence and an operating permit; on a takeover, check the licence and its transfer at the mairie (town hall). Amplified music needs a noise impact study. Two risks stand out: épisodes cévenols, violent autumn storms causing flash floods, and wildfires in the south. See our guide to buying a reception venue and our article on agritourism and wine tourism (both in French).
One Ardèche country house in ten sold for more than €347,357 in 2025; a mas with a hall, outbuildings and accommodation costs more, depending on size and condition. A former village hall is cheaper but usually needs compliance works. Estimate purchase costs with our notary fees calculator (in French).
The wedding season follows the tourist season, from spring to autumn. Off-season, seminars for Rhône valley firms, family events and letting the accommodation fill the gaps; a site near the Rhône finds this easier than an isolated upland estate. Nothing is guaranteed: test your assumptions with an accountant.
It usually covers the property, conveyed by a notaire (the public officer handling property sales), and the fonds de commerce (name, clients, contracts, equipment), transferred under its own formalities. Ask for the accounts, signed wedding contracts, the safety commission report and the drainage inspection, often by the SPANC for off-mains systems.
